# The Massive and Quiescent Elliptical Host Galaxy of the Repeating Fast Radio Burst FRB 20240209A

T. Eftekhari, Y. Dong, W. Fong et al., 2025. _The Astrophysical Journal Letters 979(2), L22_.

The first repeater localised with the CHIME/FRB Outriggers lies in a massive, quiescent elliptical galaxy at z = 0.1384, about 11 billion years old in its stars. With FRB 20200120E, this points to a channel distinct from the core collapse of massive stars.
