# Magnetospheric origin of a fast radio burst constrained using scintillation

Kenzie Nimmo, Ziggy Pleunis, Paz Beniamini et al., 2025. _Nature 637(8044), 48–51_.

Two scintillation scales in the one-off FRB 20221022A, one from a Milky Way screen and one from the host, limit the emission region to under about 3 × 10⁴ km, which disfavours models where emission arises far from the central engine.
