# Local and exotic sources of sarsen debitage at Stonehenge revealed by geochemical provenancing

T. Jake R. Ciborowski, David J. Nash, Timothy Darvill et al., 2024. _Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports_.

Trace-element analysis of 54 excavated sarsen fragments: none is debitage from Stone 58 or its 49 chemical equivalents. Three further geochemical families mean sarsen from at least three more places reached the site; traced fragments come mostly from the Marlborough Downs, a few from Hampshire and East Sussex.
