# Venus' Mass Spectra Show Signs of Disequilibria in the Middle Clouds

Rakesh Mogul, Sanjay S. Limaye, M. J. Way et al., 2021. _Geophysical Research Letters 48(7), e2020GL091327_.

Re-examines 1978 data from the Pioneer Venus Large Probe Neutral Mass Spectrometer at 51.3 km and assigns signals to phosphine, hydrogen sulphide, nitrous and nitric acid, carbon monoxide and other species, implying reducing chemistry in the middle clouds.
