# The statistical reliability of 267-GHz JCMT observations of Venus: no significant evidence for phosphine absorption

M. A. Thompson, 2020. _Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters 501(1), L18–L22_.

Re-analyses the JCMT spectrum with low-order and multiple higher-order polynomial baselines and a non-parametric bootstrap; neither method recovers a significant line, and polynomial fitting produces false positives.
