The longest Etruscan text: a linen book of twelve columns, about 1,330 legible words and 230 lines, perhaps 60 per cent of the original, cut into strips in Ptolemaic Egypt to wrap a mummy. Written by one hand in northern Etruria between about 250 and 150 BC; read as a liturgical calendar prescribing offerings to named gods on dated days, but not translated sentence by sentence.
